Is this stuff basically carb cleaner without the aerosol? Or is it good to go for cleaning an AR? I'm trying to find a good cleaning solution that won't act like carb cleaner and strip the metal from my AR of its oils.

Hoppes No. 9 is next to try.

The only Shooter's Choice product I'm familiar with is their bore cleaner. It isn't as agressive as some of the others like Sweets, but it does contain ammonia, I believe, and it will do a good job of copper removal.

If you lube with CLP or something similar, most carbon and crud will be suspended in the lubricant and can, for the most part, wiped off with paper towels or a rag. This will leave some residual oil on the surface of the various parts. The exceptions are the bore, which I guess you know how to clean, and the bolt carrier group, which benefits from a soaking in mineral spirits/CLP or another solvent such as Hoppe's. Follow up the soaking with disassembly, cleaning and inspection. Lube it with CLP or equal and put it back together.

What exactly are you trying to do with Shooter's Choice or are we talking about a different product?

I've used liquid Shooters Choice MC-7 bore cleaner with no ill effects in my rifles, including my AR-15.  It seems better than Hoppe's #9 in my opinion.  It is better at cleaning the bore of an AR-15 better than BreakFree-CLP, but does not provide lubrication.  After cleaning with Shooter's Choice, I use BreakFree-CLP for lubrication of the bore.

IMO, Shooter's Choice will do a better job in the bore than either #9 or CLP.

However, if you're talking about using it for cleaning everything else outside the bore, then I'd use #9 or CLP, but not the Shooter's Choice.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.  I use Shooter's Choice Bore cleaner to clean the bore.  Generally, I use BreakFree-CLP to clean the parts of a firearm (including the bore unless stubborn deposits warrant the use of something stronger than CLP).
