Do any of you guys use EEZOX as your CLP. I use it on my hunting rifles and love it. My question is the run wet factor of the AR. EEZOX is recommended to be applied as a thin coat and allowed to dry. If too much is used it forms a sticky reside. If not EEZOX, what CLP do you recommend.
Thanks, |

Never used EEzzox on an AR, but have used it on just about every other common pistol and rifle.
For AR I recommend BF CLP or better. Weapons Shield imhop is one of those that are better where miltec is worse. BF CLP can be purchased just about every gunshop in USA. |

Did you get Eezox locally or order it via mail? Debating whether to order some and what size (I know a little goes a long way, but discounts for larger sizes are worth noting) Both. A few years ago a local GS was closing its doors I bought 2 cases (4oz bottles) off the guy for 40 bucks. Since then I bought one 1 qt can from warren online. I'd go small (4 oz) at first if you like then get more |
| Eezox is a great rust preventative but personally I have never liked it as a lube. Aside from it stinking up the house, I had used it on a Springfield XD and noticed some galling on the stainless slide. Not saying that it was the eezox but I'm not one to take chances. For a dry lube I prefer Sentry Tuf-Glide. |

At the time I did not know it was a great deal. They are the metal cans. If I knew it worked as well as it does at rust prevent I would of bought the aerosol cases as well.
ETA I never used it on cress, only carbon steel and a 870 marine mag. One down side at least for me being how old my cans are I think the solvent has all but flashed off so getting it to dry can be near impossible, so I use it as a wet lube usually. |
