Hello,
just field stripped, cleaned and oiled my brand new RRA Tactical Entry. One thing I noticed is that there are 2 ways you can re-assemble the bolt into the bolt carrier. (since there is an index hole for the cam pin) How do I know which way is correct?

I reassembled the weapon, and performed a function check and everything seems fine. But I do not want to take it to the range and have a failure due to my ignorance of the weapon.

Any tips would be appreciated !!

Thanks in advance.

The extractor should be on the same side as the ejection port, usually the right side unless you have one of those wacky left hand models.

This is always a good video...

The bolt should also be constructed so that you can't put the cam pin in the wrong way. Try it and see. BSW

Most often this is correct. But there have been guys on here who have claimed that their cam pin fit both sides of the bolt.

This video is awesome. Any question you have about field stripping your AR for cleaning will be answered. Especially helpful for those little details like what he OP asked like orientation of the bolt or which hole the firing pin retaining pin goes in.

Yes, I immediately went and watched this.... actually had to watch it twice.... kind of hard not to concentrate on the lady instead of the rife!  hanks

I did a function test one day in my .458 and nothing was ejecting. Upon inspection I noticed the extractor was on the wrong side of the bolt lol. It went in upside down. Just to be 100% positive about that I assembled my bcg right now with the bolt upside down. It goes together no problem.

Extractor is on the ejection port side, ejector is on the inside of your receiver.

Extractor on ejection port side, ejection pin on inner side.
