Picked up a Colt SP1 carbine maybe 8 years ago, shot it once and put it away.
I got it out the other day to check it out and clean it. While running a brush through it about 6 to 7 inches from the end of the muzzle there  seemed like there was a void or an easy pull through area, then on continued pulling the resistance started up again, checked the outside of the barrel for a bulge, no bulge! Looked inside and didn;t see anything ,  what could be the problem with the barrel? Thanks for any help !

If you do not see any obvious defects its hard to say.
Remove the upper and shine a bright light into the chamber and inspect the bore.If the barrel is ringed you will see it as a dark ring area.
Otherwise I'd say your GTG.
If your still concerned, have a gunsmith eye ball the bore and see what he or she says.
Make sure the bore is cleaned and lubed before you store it again though.
