I use Gunslick foaming bore cleaner for my bolt actions and my SKS.  I was sold on this stuff when it cleaned out a 91/30 barrel I almost gave up on.  Is this safe to use on an AR?  Some of the foam must end up in the gas tube and I wonder if this will cause problems.

I did use it on my AR once until I saw the label that said not to use it on gas operated semi-auto's.  So unfortunately the answer is no.  Great for bolt actions!

I use Break-Free FBC on my ARs,and all of my other rifles, with no problems.  It cleans up old milsurps pretty well, too.  If FBC getting in the gas tube really bothers you, blow it out with some brake cleaner or compressed air.  It doesn't bother me.

+1.  I shoot a little brake cleaner down the gas tube after using foaming bore cleaner. Works good.
