What is a good patch/jag combination that actually fits the AR-15 bore? I have an unknown brand jag in .22 cal that I cant push thru the barrel. I have tried several brands of square patches without succes. Square or round patches? Any help will be appreciated. |
| If you can't push your 22 jag through the bore it's not a 22 jag. But I'm assuming it'll go, just not with the patch. The extra material on the square patches does make it more difficult. The trick is round patches (or trim the corners off your square patches). Actually, I use square patches for my loop and round ones for my jag. But some jags have short heads and will accommodate the square patches more readily. If you have a long jag, then a round patch is the way to go. |
The jag passes freely without a patch... I believe my problem are the square patches. For years Ive been using a brass loop and square patches, but now Im getting into presicion/long range shooting and want to properly clean match bbls. I'll try some round patches. Any one have a proven jag/patch combination that I can order from Midway? Thanks in advance. |

Couldn't find round patches on Midway. I like Dewey's patches. Any jag will do. Dewey Patches Well, I take that back. I don't like the Dewey jags because I think they are too long. I've used the Dewey patches and they are fine. But I use another brand and I like their jags better too. I'll see if I can remember. |

Patch will wrap around the jag and fit. You can buy these directly from Pro-Shot. This jag-patch combination works best with Bore-Tech coated, brass tipped rod. |
