I recently broke down my new LR-308 for the first time. The Firing Pin Retaining Pin did not have the retaining clip that I was used to, instead it was flared out at the small end slightly, and it was very difficult to remove. It was IMPOSSIBLE to re-insert after I had the bolt carrier cleaned to my liking. I ended up having to compress the small end slightly with some needle nose pliers to get it to go back in. Has anyone else had this problem. Does anyone think I will have a problem with the pin now? Thanks, mikebaby |

Well I have ZERO .308 AR experience. But from looking at pics of the .308 FP retaining pin, it looks similar to the early solid AR15 FPRP. Did you try twisting the FPRP back and forth while inserting it? This is a trick that usually works with the stubborn .223/5.56 FPRP’s. |
