I have a Armalite AR15 carbine that I would like to replace the bolt carrier to a new enhanced carrier, keeping the original bolt. The rifle has about 1000 rounds through it. Do I need to replace the whole BCG?

no bolt change needed. Just replace carrier as you stated.

LWRC has properly staked carriers for $55 a piece that they are selling off.

They claim mil-spec, but looking at the poor quality picture, they appear to have an exposed firing pin and milled tail.

Still a good deal.

Milled tail, dosent look like an exposed pin.

At that cost I would buy one even if it was a 1/2 moon expossed FP.

Ordered one today after talking to them and found they had a mix of covered (enhansed) and older none covered type carriers. $60 shipped. Will advise when I receive it.

Well I received the bolt carrier from LWRC at the advertised price of $55 dollars. It had the protected firing pin and the full circle rear end. Fired 40 rounds last week, the new carrier with my existing bolt worked just fine. Thanks for the info gents.
