Anyone have any experience/comments about the cleaner that comes with the Otis cleaning kits (085 UltraBore)?

It *seems* pretty good stuff to me ...

I always thought in the early Otis kits the CLP was FP10 . Am I wrong about that ?? WarDawg

I bought my Otis kit when they first hit the market & the bore cleaner stuff wasn't FP-10.

I have the small bottle that came in the kit, and got a great deal on a couple of the larger bottles. Works ok for a lube and cleaner, not sure how it would stack up with breakfree as a protectant though.

I bought a gallon of the OTIS Ultrabore CLP two years ago and have been maintaining a 60+ rifle collection on it ever since. In my observation, it has done just as well as Breakfree in every way, shape and form as the Breakfree CLP. I have used it on AR's, AK's, Garand's , SKS's and many other type rifles with the same like performance that Breakfree CLP gave me at a cheaper cost.

I have used it and think it works as good or better than break free. It disolves carbon better and stays longer because it is a little thicker. I'm still a break free fan.

Same here, I am still a Breakfree fan also and would not venture the OTIS CLP is any better nor any worse.

Ok .... thanks for the comments.
My impression was that it was at least as good as Breakfree (which I normally use).
I also agree that the thicker consistency seems to make it superior to Breakfree in keeping a film on parts when stored.

I have three tubes -- depending on how it goes with those, I may order a larger quantity.

I have the small tubes also. I keep one in the trap door of my a2 stock with the otis cord and a few patches.

The CLP that comes in the OTIS kits is Breakfree.
