Does anyone use this, and would anyone recommend it?

I'm trying to come up with a good lubricant/preservative (not a cleaner) that I can get in some sort of bulk.  I am sick to death of CLP, am unimpressed with Militech-1, and want something that's "oilier" than Hornady One-Shot.

Thanks!

I've never used the Brownell's stuff, but it is probably good.  I would recommend Corrosion X Aviation.  Sounds exactly like what you are after.  Slip 2000 is another possibility.

Anyone else?

Two things to check out.  I've tried both, and both are good.

* Hoppes Elite CLP or "Field cleaner" product (have heard it called both).  This stuff is also marketed as Mpro-7 CLP or field cleaner.  It's an outstanding lube/rust prevention/cleaner product that does an excellent job on the rust prevention aspect.  I used it on all my weapons, including the AR's, and never get a spot of rust, even living in the Pacific NW.  Brownells carries it under the Mpro-7 label.

Here are links to some of the best prices I've found for the small bottle, and the bulk 32 oz bottle:

Hoppes Elite 32 oz bottle

Added note:  You can also get the Hoppe's Elite/Mpro "Gun oil", which is the lube/rust-prevent aspect of the their CLP product, but without the cleaner.  Unfortunately, it's not much cheaper than the CLP stuff, and not as useful in the field.  Anyway, here's a link:

* Gunzilla.  This stuff is getting rave reviews from many troops in Iraq, because it goes on dry and does a great job of lubing/rust prevention, but does not attract grit to the weapon and thus avoids lockups.  It can be used as an all purpose CLP product that is better than the Breakfree stuff.  Kind of expensive though, and I personally liked the Hoppes Elite/Mpro-7 line of products better.  But many people are really liking this new product, and MidwayUsa has picked it up, a sure sign it is growing its market share.

Good luck!

I second Slip2000. It is really a good gun oil and stays wet under extreem heat of rapid fire.

preservative  eezox.
It is not an "oil" more of a dry film, but does lube well.

Witht his lube you must start w/ a clean dry oil free surface.

I use the oil the aresol contains 111 trichlorethane?

Must use both w/ great air flow, or you may find your self singing Lucy in the Sky w/ Diamonds.
