I read an artical called "AR-15 Builders Resouce" on Gunsnet.net.

It states you should break in a new chrome-lined barrel with 200 rounds of quality brass cased ammo and you should not clean the bore during the break in.
It states, "This will allow the chrome to polish."

I've not heard this before.

I'd like to hear some opinions on this.

Bushmaster has similar advise on their website.  I don't see anything wrong with that advise.

Shoot it with non-corrosive ammo.  Follow that advice and you will be fine.

Chrome is great.  Most people over clean them.

It is BS - Just shoot it and you will be fine.

Sounds like BS to me as well.  That advise is for a non chrome bore that you want to achieve max accuracy over the long haul and ease your cleaning.
Chrome is harder than barrel steel and I do not know how a soft copper bullet will polish it any more than it already is.
Keep the heat down by doing slow fire and your barrel will outlast you.
