What are your cleaning routines for your AR10?

I have a 308 military cleaning kit (fits in stock) that contains a screw together rod, chamber brush, barrel brush, patches, etc. I added very small plastic container of BF CLP to it. I also have a universal Otis kit that I use on my 223/5.56 rifles.

What are areas to concentrate on while cleaning? What about areas that folks generally overdue it on? What are your thoughts? I'm curious.

I would think the routine for the AR10 would be the same as the AR15.

True, for some.

Is there a downside to using a pull through kit like Otis (barrel/crown wear)? Some say they never use a brush down the barrel, ever. They just use a good copper solvent (Butch's Bore Shine, Hoppes, etc.) and swab the barrel and then dry it out.

I guess I just want to hear from folks what works. I know it's everyone's opinion, but that's what a lot of posts on this entire site are, opinions

I just use a Bore Snake that I drench in CLP. For both AR-15 and AR-10.

Works great.

I've seen those, but never used one. Are they rough on the inside of the barrel? How do you clean the gunk out of one after use (I assume they're reusable)? I may check one out.

Not rough at all. It has less bristles than a regular rod brush. You can throw it in the washing machine and re-use it as much as you want. You can use it over and over for a bunch of times before you wash it so I wouldn't worry about it much.

I'm not sure who "they" are, but I suggest Wipeout!

Great stuff! My barrel AR-15 barrel has not had a brush inside of it since I purchased the stuff, and the bore is shiny as hell with no carbon and no copper whatsoever.
