Hi this is my first time posting on this website.  I need some advice about storing my AR for a long period ( maybe 6 months to 3 year).  Should I oil all the lower parts or  grease them.  Also should I grease the inside and outside of the Bolt carrier and the inside the barrel?  Your advises would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You

Depends on the enviroment that it will be stored in.
Inside the house, out in a garage, under a rock?

I'm simple.  Just put on a nice thick coating of some rust inhibiting grease on every steel surface and call it good.  Find a decent place to store it, temperature controlled, and ideally humidity controlled as well.

If it's being stored for 3 months-1 year, just take it apart and lube it up with an excess coat of oil over all the parts. I would leave out the grease unless you are going to put it in storage for more than a year.

I oil them and store them in silicone gun socks.

Make sure you secure them from thieves and children.  You could take them apart and store the lower and upper, slide and frames is separate places.  Thieves can’t use ½ a gun.

+1

My guns have been residing in theses, un-oiled (besides normal), the last few years while I've been overseas - nary a sign of corrosion.
