| I know many of you use Eezox as a corrosion inhibitor but how many also use it as their primary oil? I've got a supply of both Eezox and CorrosionX on hand but need to narrow it down to only one brand for future use. Both work as advertised but the CorrosionX SEEMS to be a superior lubricant over Eezox. I truly welcome all comments, both positive AND negative. Thank you kindly. |

I think you are about to run into what I have...I use both! I use Eezox for guns that are easy to get into or detail strip. This allows for proper application, and verification that it is there. This product is more like a wax than an oil, so the application theories are similar. I use Eezox on most of my handguns and my AR as a CLP and am happy so far. The Trichloroethelene solvent in Eezox is quite strong and can have some negative effects. Some people love the smell, others get deftly sick from it. I always use it in open air or at least with good ventilation. This is what gives it it's cleaning power. I like the CX Aviation product as well. This is what I use on some collector guns that don't get shot and I don't want to take apart. CX is a very good penetrant so I feel good about it getting into nooks and crannies and between tight parts. It is also a good CLP. There is some smell, but it is not that strong. I think you can't go wrong with either product, but the CX is easier to use, with less smell. |

I've got both products AND a fair supply of FP10. To me FP10 is the best gun oil going but it's getting harder to find locally, and doesn't offer much corrosion resistance I've been told. Once it's all finished I'd really like to settle on one. I've used quite a bit of the CX gun oil and general purpose aerosol. How is the aviation type different? Does it dry better? Thanks again. Oh yes, if you want to smell "bad," try some Strike Hold. |
