what is the proper way/ tools needed to polish a the feed ramp ? have a new stag upper, went shooting today, it seems the feed ramp has some gouges and the ammo is catching and not allowing the bolt to close. common ? cures ? opinions ? Thanks

used golden bear hp, didn't push mag in fully one time, think hp gouged feed ramp, not manufacturing defect, own stupidity FYI

Doubt the bullet "gouged" your feed ramps. Get a toothbrush and some CLP and suspect you'll find no gouges, just copper marks which the CLP and brushing will remove.

post a pic if your able.

new rifle some will have problems the first 30 or so rounds, provided you have the rifle clean and oiled correct and kown good mags

your feed ramp may have maching marks, new rifle I would let the manuf fix the problem.

Barrel steel is tough stuff. Hard to imagine how a round could gouge it. If it is truly gouged, anything else that may have caused it?

As mentioned, sometimes new uppers can have small burrs on the feed ramps, I would check there. If burrs are present you can clean them up with a nail file or very light sand paper. If your using new mags check the feed lips as well for burrs.
