Perhaps my searching ability sucks, but I didn't find any results on how to clean under permanently attatched free float hand guards.  Are there any tricks you could tell me about?

Spray it out with some brake cleaner and compressed air.

Depending on where you live, the barrel will rust out if you try that method. Adding CLP to the list of sprays will prevent rust, but will cause dirt/dust to collect instead.  With a tube you just don't have really good choices. BSW

What about using one of the dry lubes after the brake cleaner and compressed air?  Something like Strikehold or  one of the other cleaner/lubes?

Spraying some Strikehold on it will clean it and protect it, just blow off the excess and don't bother wiping; I dig Strikehold.

Another option would be to do what I did.  Use a high temp engine paint to paint that portion of the barrel to protect it more.  I also use Strikehold or Tetra, or even a silicone spray to keep it from rusting underneath my rails.
