how do you get the crud that builds up between the phantom (with crush washer) and the crown?

i guess you could just leave it there but i think it might be hurting some accuracy

I just let the filth build up untill the gap goes away. I'm not pulling off the flash hider for normal maintence, and trying to use a pick is just asking to damage the crown. BSW

4,000 rounds later my ar with a2 bird cage still shoots the same.  I replaced the A2 last night with a cooley comp there was a bit of build up on the rear face of the A2. The muzzel itself cleaned up easy with some Mpr0-7 and a bronze brush.

With a Crush washer I would only remove the muzzel device if you had a new crush washer for replacment. Peel washers you can reuse, crush washers are onetime use only.
