What is the firearms lube product used by the military for arctic environments?

Never mind, found it: LAW.

is it the same as LSA?

The new spec for CLP actually covers the same temp range as LSA, so it is now good for arctic use.

No - my understanding is LAW is differnt that LSA - have not opened the quart can for a while (only shoot in above zero weather - now that no longer in the UP of Michigan ;-).

BF CLP now meets the new CLP spec, so it will be good down to about -54C. I'm not too surprised since it contains a Group IV PAO synthetic oil. I was just trying to find the low extreme temp range of the LAW.

Lubricant, Arctic Weapons = LAW

Lubricant, Small Arms = LSA

Not the same.

The closest thing in general circulation that is similar in properties to LAW is G-96.

I strongly suspect, they are very similar in formulation to each other and both react badly to make gummy residue when exposed to Break Free CLP.
