i have to clean after every range trip. But thats because i look at it as an investment, kind of like a car. And i want to keep it in near perfect condition.

I clean my rifle immediatly after I return from shooting and again two days later. If I haven't shot any of my AR's in awhile, I will clean them at least once a month. I use Break Free and standard military patches and cleaning equipment.
