Who here uses one? How often do you take the handguards off? Should I purchase one for my BM 20" A3?

i made one using the instructions on Maryland's ar15. I only need it for the older slipring on the M16A1 rifle. The A2 and above I can remove them with my hands.

FWIW, I use my hands and don't own or need a handguard removal tool.

I gather then that the tool as sold by BM is an unnecessary expense for maintaining our beloved rifles?

I have one. I thought it was easier to take them on and off by myself that way. I think I paid $ 20 for the one I have. I guess it's not exactly a necessity, but it makes life easier, at least for me.

And we have a winner! If you can't pull the delta ring back then maybe it's time to use that $20 and start a gym membership. Or just apply it to a YHM 2 piece handguard. MJD
