I have been using FP-10 as the CLP to clean my Bushy AR.  After a couple weeks of sitting after cleaning most of the FP-10 that I put on the bolt carrier, etc seems to have evaporated or run to other locations in the rifle.  Is there still enough protection there to have a range seeeion with the rifle or do I need to reapply the lube?  What kind of lube will stay wet for weeks at a time until I can make it out to the range again without worrying if I am damaging the rifle by using it with improper lube.  Thanks for the replies.

fp-10 is still there providing lube and protection. You had the excess you applied run off. If your firearms live in a high mostiure location. re oil once a month. Most oils you can go longer, i just like once a month rule.

if you want to rust prevent where your not going to be shooting for a while best out there is grease. your going to have to remove it all before shooting.

By any chance do you store the rifle in a foam lined case? If so the foam is soaking up the oil.

I used to use FP-10 and had the same problem. I now use Slip 2000 and it works much better and stays put! Check it out....www.slip2000.com
