I am out of CLP and won't be able to get any until tomorrow or the next day.  One of my AR's has a very dry looking spot that looks like it might rust up any time on it's ejection port cover.  I sprayed some 100% pure silicon on it for now.  Any harm in a small amount of it on the gun?

Nope! Silicon is a protectant and will not harm the metal.

Thank-you.  Any idea if it can gum up when combined with other oils/cleaners?

Well it might react with something but I doubt CLP and most gun oils. I have mixed oils and solvents and so far it has caused no harm. There are a lot of oils that have silicon in them so I would not worrie about it. I would how ever pick your favorite oil and stick with it, I got away from mixing just to be safe. I now use eather SLIP 2000 or TW25B.

I used the WD-40 brand of Silicone spray on my AR-15 because it was actually less expensive than the "dry-film" sprays that they sell (which contain PTFE and WD-40 basically). The solvents in the Silicone spray do a decent job removing the carbon while providing fundamental light lubrication.

I think I'm allergic to CLP so I stopped using it.

Silicone and clp make gum. Nothing harmless though.
