Problem just started.

Fired round is pulled by extractor but not ejected from port. As bolt goes forward, strips new round from mag. The spent casing and new round jam as bolt goes forward.

Seems like maybe bolt not being "blown" back far or hard enough. Rifle clean at time. No gunk near rings on bolt.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

You want to post this in the Troubleshooting section.

Definately sounds like a gas problem. Check the screws on top of the carrier. You may have a gas leak there. Also, check the gas block over the hole in the barrel, if it is loose or may have been bumped.  This could cause the problem you describe.

and make sure the gas tube is not in upside down

What is condition of the case rim on the stuck case?  If kind of beat up this could be too much gas, where the extractor can't overcome the grip of the case on the chamber's walls.  Check out Maryland AR15 website and their troubleshooting article on shortstroking.  If your situation is too much gas you can go to a heavier extarctor spring and/or o-ring or you can add weight to the carrier or buffer to delay initial unlocking.

If too little gas (leaking key, worn gas rings, leaking tube) just replace the worn parts.

Let us know how you end up resolving this -- I'm kind of going through a similar deal but in my situation extraction is fine but feeding is taking a hit.  I'm attacking it through chamges in ammo to see if I can isolate it to a gas problem or a mag problem.

I did not notice any bending of the spent case rim. Out of maybe 250 rounds fired yesterday, it did this about 10 times. Prior to yesterday, it ran fine using same ammo. That is why I think it is too little pressure, not too much.

I have not changed the gas tube - how do you tell if it is upsidedown?

I'll replace my gas rings and check the carrier key.

thanks to all.

when you cycle it by hand does it still eject properly?

take off the handguard and the tube should "step" up as it goes towards your upper away from the FSB

I believe so, but I will check tonight.

Yesterday, the spent case was always pulled from the chamber, just not ejected.

it could be a bad ejector assembly(plunger or spring)in the bolt if it dosen't eject when hand cycling

Using a spent cartridge check your plunger, work it in and out while soaking in clp or solvent to clean.  Brass shavings from extraction have a way of ending up in your plunger hole.

Thanks. I'll give this a try. I'll bet it is the plunger because the bolt extracts the spent case and travels back far enough to strip another round from the mag. If it goes back enough to pick up another round it should be plenty far enough to eject the spent one.

Thanks to all for the tips. I'll let you know.

If the bolt is moving rearward enough to strip a new round out of the mag, then the Bolt is moving far enough back to eject the round.

SOUNDS LIKE AN EJECTOR ISSUE.

I had a similar problem with a 20" SS barrel BM. I thought it was the Wolf ammo, or as others had mentioned that maybe the gas port diameter wasnt to spec..... Before doing anything radical I scrubbed the heck out of the surface of the bolt carrier and the receiver interior and oiled well and voila no more problem. The gun was clean to begin with  and maybe just neeeded the little extra and extra oil.
