I have used 100% cotton baby diapers, 100% cotton dish towels and 100%cotton terry cloth. But I still have lint after cleaning. I can get the lint off if I REALLY wipe the surface, but in order to to that I am also removing virtually all of the oil......What am I doing wrong? What kind of rags should I be using??? The lower is not *that* big of a problem, but the rails look like a snow storm just passed through. Help please.

I use a cotton cloth for cleaning and wiping the surfaces dry.
Any lint from the cloth blows or brushes off the dry surface after cleaning. To apply my lube I use a 7/8" stencil brush.Put a few drops of CLP or Mil-comm,depending on what Im cleaning,on the brush and paint the lube on in a thin visible film.Assemble,Good to go and no lint.

Do you know anyone in the medical profession?  Surgical towels are lint free.  The ones that aren't used during surgery are trash (if the package was opened) and it's not uncommon for surgical techs to collect a few as a favor.

As an ex-surgical tech (Labor and Deliver), I used to hand them out.

+1 micro-fiber is great.  I use them on my customers show cars. Lint free, good for windows also.
