I use a hard shell case with foam liner to store and transport my rifle.

When I'm done shooting I put the rifle back in the case to transport home.  After cleaning I put the rifle back in the case.  It seems as if a lot of crap drips out of the rifle into the foam after these two events.  If I put a clean white towel down ont he foam and press, the towel gets black.

I've never seen it talked about before, how do i clean that foam??

It's aggrevating because everytime I put my clean rifle into the foam and pick it back up, the rifle has pocka-dots on it!

A hard shell case should be for transport only.
Your gun should be stored in something that breathes.
I use bore stores for storing everything.

Sounds like your hard shell case is very dirty.
If it does not rinse out with soap and water,
you probably need a new one.

(edit) I just read your other post and it sounds like you put
your gun away with too much clp on it.
