What is the proper way to clean your Mags.I never did it so I was just wondering how to.

Remove the base plate, then separate the spring from the follower.  Clean out the mag body with an old baby-bottle brush using hot, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.  Wipe the spring with a light coating of CLP, then re-assemble.

Be sure that you do not over-lube the mag spring, or lube the walls of the mag body: oils can penetrate a cartridge's primer and cause it to fail, giving you a mag full of FTFs.

Good advice from El Roto.

I have to do that often after coming back from a day at the range.  My mags get caked with fine dust.

Slip a small flat tip screwdriver under the back of the plate.  GENTLY pry up and back and the plate will slide off.
