[ARCHIVED THREAD] - How to Remove Safety/Selector Lever

I must be missing something! I've pulled, tapped, twisted and gently pried the safety/selector lever in an attempt to remove it from my Bushmaster. It refuses to budge! What am I missing? I'm installing one of the new Chip McCormick match trigger assemblies and need to remove the lever.

Did you remove the fire control group and the pistol grip?

You have to remove the pistol grip, or at least loosen it enough, so that the spring and detent that hold the safety selector in the lower can be gotten out enough to let the safety slide on out.

Watch out for that spring and detent, they are easy to lose.

Thanks guys! I had removed the fire control group but not the pistol grip. That should solve my problem.
