Well, after a long abscence, I'm back to my AR15 shooting, starting with my Colt 9mm Sporter.  OK, dumb question -- after removing the screw cover from one side of the pivot pin, how do I remove the main section of the pin to separate the upper from the lower?  Just push it through with a dowel?  Or is there some trick?  Can I replace the pivot screw with a push pin?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

F.

G10, I'm not sure if your "screw/ pin" combo is a .250 or a .375 but either way removal is indentical. The screw comes off one side, you push the threaded other part out the opposite. Use whatever fits that will not scratch both the pivot pin threaded section and also the upper/ lower inner reciever "ears".

Make sense?
