| what is the easy way to clean the free floated barrels. Do I have to take off that front sight ever time I want to clean the gas tube etc.? Also, how often am I going to have to go through this? Wondering if I should have gone with the standard car 2 piece. |
| The gas tube never needs cleaning? Dosen't it get carbon and powder buildup reducing gas flow? I was still wondering how they come off if I was to switch to a standard car or m4 forward grip, or does that require changing the barrel mount and bracket and everthing off the upper? |

A gas tube should NEVER need cleaning. With the pressures that go through it with each shot there is hardly anyway it can become clogged, it just won't happen. Most have problems with them when they fool with those long pipe cleaners and get them stuck. There is a small roll pin at the front sight housing that retains the gas tube. Look where the tube enters the sight housing and then look just forward of that and you will see a very small roll pin securing it. It takes a very small punch to remove it, but when you do, just slide the gas tube back a bit and off it comes. As for the grips, standard or M4, I can't help you. |
