well im sitting here this morning cleaing my rifle. well i looked down the bbl and am seeing what looks like rust in the rifling. is it rust or something else? and how do i get rid of it? thanks |
| Jason is your barrel chromed lined? If so it shouldn't be rust.Have you been putting a running good CLP (oil) patch in there after you clean? I think what your seeing is copper from the bullets on the rifleing. Nothing to worry about.I might use a copper clean every 1000-2000 rnds or so.Thats me anyhow. My rifles are plinkers not match rifles .Cheers WarDawg |

Might also just be carbon particles. Put some CLP or a solvent on a newish bronze bore brush and run it through the bore a few times, followed by a few clean patches. Hopefully it will clean up. If it is rust, you’ll feel the brush drag against it even after you’ve cleaned the bore as described above. |
