Can anyone explain the process of removing and installing gas rings.

You deserve SOME reply to your post. I use some fine non-searrated needle nose pliars (electronic type). Shift the rings so that one of the three sticks up more than the other two. Grab hold 180deg out from the opening in the ring. pull 90deg to the bolt, and it should come out. Follow same instructions for remaining two rings, but remove one at a time.

to install, set ring to bolt grove with opening tward bolt. Push with finger pressure until ring expands over and around bolt. Same thing with remaining two, but again install one at a time.

When all three rings are on the bolt, don't forget to index the gaps 120deg from each other.
