Has anyone that is using the Binary Firing System gen 3 trigger encountered a problem when in binary mode, the rifle never fires when the trigger is released? It just lets the hammer slide from the disconnect to the "pull" firing position like in regular semi auto mode. It doesn't even pass the test when you install the trigger and hammer. It basically is safe semi semi instead of safe semi binary when dry fired and live firing. |

Oh boy there is a washer on the IDS spring? I was one of the guys that opened my bag and the slave pin popped out and my parts were scattered. I don't recall seeing a washer anywhere. I will take the trigger assembly apart again, perhaps this washer is lodged under the ids or disconnector. Thanks much! I wish Franklin armory had some troubleshooting steps to take for each of there recommended tests in the installation instructions. |

Just a FYI, but if the hammer is being over cocked to the Bud on binary setting, then it will turn the trigger into a fire on release only!!!!
Most of the time this only happens with block back systems, but can happen if you are running a shrouded carrier as well (think M-16 type carrier). So in your case, make sure that the IDS spring is not kinked, the IDS bar is moving cleanly, then you can deal with it the hammer is being over cocked. As for the system, it too easy to outrun the carrier before it comes all they way back forward as the hammer is released, ending with a live round in the chamber, and the hammer down against the back of the carrier (read have to re-cock the rifle, ending up with a live round being ejected that you really need to check to make sure that the bullet come out with the case, and not still stuck in the chamber for a obstructed barrel KB instead). Hence what the system is missing, is a Colt semi lock system that prevents the hammer from being able to come down against a back of the carrier until the bolt is fully locked up.In a SKS, and HK full automatic, it called a safety sear, which just happens to double as the auto sear in the HK full auto rifles. This way, if you do outrun the carrier with the trigger, the carrier is locked about halfway forward, which ends up with a safe recock that you should not have to check the ejected live round each time to make sure that the bullet is still in the ejected case. |
