Today I was doing a little load development for my RRA NM AR for the up coming competition season. I was loading rounds one at time using a BOB Sled single round magazine. After about 10 rounds I loaded another single round and hit the bolt carrier release. The bolt moved forward and the round became jammed between the top of bolt and charging handle. It was a real booger to get out. I basically had to wiggle the bolt up and down while trying to remove the round. Was wondering if any one else had experienced this kinda problem before.

It's called brass over bolt. One way to clear it is drop the map and start pulling the bolt back with your fingers in the mag well and at the same time start pulling back on the CH. once you get some slack on the CH start pushing it forward all while keeping tension on the bolt face with your finger and it should pop out. May want to mark that magazine. Could be the problem.

Brass over bolt jam clearing,

As for bob sleds, when you feeding the round in, feed it into into the chamber mostly as well using the sled as your guide to move the round forward on it rails. Hence don't just throw the round in the chamber port, and hit the release instead.

Thanks for the info. I wish I would have taken pics and posted them also. I have never had one jam in this way. Wish I had seen or knew this earlier but thats my fault. Thanks again for the info.

No worries, but if you do manage to get a H433/H466 squib load, stuck half way down the tube of a M-230, that one your all on your own trying to clear instead(not even going to watch you try to clear if from a safe distance).

Rotation spin wise, should have not been enough to set the nose impact trigger, but still not worth it to try to shove it the the rest of the way down the barrel with a stick instead.
