I'm at a loss. I built a 10.5" pistol and can't get it to cycle a full round. It won't even make it half way back through the cycle. It did this when I dummied it up and same thing, I had another lower with me at the time with a rifle length buffer setup. It worked flawlessly.
After completing the cerakote I put in a H2 buffer with a 10 3/4" spring thinking it would fire great but tried it today and nothing. The BCG doesn't even make it half way back through the ejection port. Where have I gone wrong? Here's the parts list Spikes lower Rec. So it runs fine with the rifle length buffer tube system on the other lower, but doesn't with the pistol length buffer tube system? After you press the trigger, the bolt carrier assembly should unlock from battery, extract the empty casing from the chamber, then pull the empty casing far enough rearward to eject it, and also recock the hammer, so when it is malfunctioning which one of these cycles of operation is it not doing? If the bolt carrier assembly isn't going rearward enough to eject the empty casing, it is possibly a lack of gas pressure, something is rubbing and causing too much friction, you have too much buffer & action spring resistance, etc. Have you tried it with a lighter buffer?
Any chance you can post a pic or two of the malfunction? CY6 Greg Sullivan "Sully" SLR15 Rifles TheDefensiveEdge.com (763) 712-0123 |
