I will start by saying spikes tactical customer support has been great and I am in touch with them about the problem. My disconnect will not engage the hammer at all. I have received a new disconnect and the problem still exists. The disconnect spring is installed correctly but the disconnect can't reach the part of the hammer where it engages it.  Any ideas would be great.

Blue area is where the disco grabs the hammer. If this hook area is not long enough, it can not grab

Red area is the area that sits within the trigger...if the disco does not pivot forward far enough, you can remove a small amount of metal to get it to sit farther forward. Small amount of metal at a time and test fit to see if you get there.

If the trigger was not finished correctly, the area where the disco moves may not be deep enough and prevent full movement.

Since you have the same trouble with two separate disconnectors, maybe the trigger is at fault?

Since I have 2 I will file one of them and see if that helps thanks.

Trigger, trigger pin, and disconnector in hand (no disco spring).

Dry them all together, and rock the disco in the trigger slot to make sure that is not binding up inside the slot, or on the pin.
Often here if the trigger can not move freely in the trigger slot (no spring yet), just look at the entry side channels on the disco for a burs, as well as the inside the trigger slot for a bur.

Also, make sure that when you rock the disco all the way forward in the trigger slot, the bottom front leg on the disco seats tightly against the front/top surface of the trigger..

Now you can install the disco spring with the large coils side down into the slot of the trigger, and re-test the disco movement in the trigger.  If your disco spring does not have a large coil side on once end, they you have the wrong spring in play (read you are trying to use a bolt catch spring for the disco spring , and will cause problems).

Next on the list, make sure that the FCG pin channel sizes matches the receiver pin channel size it being used in.
If you have an older Colt receiver with .174" trigger pin channel sizes, you can not use a standard mil spec .154" FCG in it.
The FCG pins will be loose in the receiver channel and this cause slop problems for the correct engagements.

As for checking disco engagement, the trigger has to be held all they back as the hammer is over cocked to the disco, and the disco should release the hammer just about when the trigger is released back to full home rest. If you are just over cocking the hammer with the trigger at rest, the disco will not catch the trigger.

I will test this also. I have depressed the hammer with the trigger pulled and it won't come close to the hammer. I will also check the pin size and make sure I have the right size pins thanks.

Tried all the above the disconnect will engage now but the timing between the disconnect and trigger is off if I release the trigger the hammer releases I have the trigger out of the gun now because of this. Any suggestions.

When cocking hammer with trigger released the hook on hammer should just miss hook on disconnector. Just miss I use a piece of paper to set gap.  Hope this helps.

I'm leaning towards an out of spec trigger.  Do you have another one you can test?

Next would be an out of spec lower, if the trigger and hammer holes aren't correct you could have a similar problem.
