I am new to this site and hopefully someone can help me find this tiny problem im over looking.

This gun has had less than 150 rds through it and has been cleaned one time by me. It is a factory assembled rifle and has functioned flawlessly until today..

I took it to the range, slapped a mag in, let the bolt go, pull the trigger andddddd click!

Dropped the mag ejected the round, and repeated. Same thing.. Im shooting factory federal M193. I looked at the primer and there is no firing pin strike AT ALL! just a round mark from the bolt itself.

I've taken apart the bolt and cleaned it, reassembled it and still no luck. The firing pin looks like its in good shape, not bent or anything. But i will note that one of the rounds did get lodged in the chamber and i could not force the bolt back myself and had to tap the charging handle with a rubber hammer to dislodge the round..? strange i know.. but anyways, the bolt is assembled properly i know that for a fact. The hammer springs in the lower look normal as well.

And sorry if im missing all the key information i am kinda new to the AR platform so any help at all would be much appreciated!

Ensure the collar of the firing pin (red) is in front of the retaining pin (yellow).

If your M400 has a fully shrouded firing pin this cut-away bolt carrier will look different than yours, but it really shows the critical parts.

Correct:

Firing pin won't be hitting anything:

oh, and welcome to the site
