I just purchased a DPMS Lo Pro Classic with an a2 fixed buttstock. I purchased an after market collapsible stock kit with all parts included to switch over the a2 buttstock to a collapsible stock.  I put an ambidextrious latch plate on the set up. When I try to charge my weapon, the charging handle hits the latch plate and will not let it charge. Did I do something wrong? Do I need to get another latch plate factory spec? Any advice would be appreciated.

I would take the receiver end plate off and use a different brand, or see if you can file the top of the end plate so that it is even with the top of the lower receiver.

I had thought about filing it....but was unsure.  Do you think a OEM DPMS plate would be better?

I do not know, as I have never used DPMS anything. I'm partial to Daniel Defense or Vltor.

You could just use the one from the kit, and then install an ambi sling mount, like the Z-360

joshdb50, yeah looks like your right on the money once again...

OP, you need to buy a US made reputable latch plate (DPMS will of course fit) and it should fix your issue. The industry is full of imported aftermarket parts and some fit some don't.
