I have built several AR rifles recently and as you all know it was tough to find a stripped lower a few months back.
I took a chance and bought an ATI OMNI stripped polymer lower.
I found I have a really cool double tap with this lower.
I found a test in this forum where you pull the charge handle back while holding the trigger.  The split hair movement later and the hammer releases.
I tried the same thing on my other rifles with a whole different result.
I will chalk this lesson to you get what you pay for.
The DROS fees, shipping and FFL fee cost more than the lower.
I see many folks have had good luck with these.
I am the unlucky one.

A "double tap" is a deliberate intentional firing of two rounds in quick succession.  Inadvertent fire of two shots from a disconnector overlap problem is called "doubling".

The parts in question can be tuned by you, or if you're not up to it, a gunsmith, to eliminate the doubling.  Making sure the disconnector and spring are properly installed, or just replacing the disconnector also usually works to fix the problem.

The problem is likely not the lower but with something in the trigger group (as mentioned above).  I created this problem in one of mine by trying to do a polishing "trigger job".  Replaced the trigger group with a known good, no problem.  Didn't try just replacing the dis-connector, but others have had good results with that.
