Hopefully this is the right place to post this.

All of my ejected brass has a dimple/dent in it. It is in the same place on all of them. Some more prominent than others.

Rifle in question is a brand new PSA 16" carbine AR. I assembled the rifle with all PSA parts. Not that it matters, just trying to give all information. And no, this is not my first build. I have built more than a dozen rifles and have never had this issue with any I have assembled or any others.
I took it out to function check the other day.
The first couple of rounds, it would fire and eject but not fully chamber the next round. I was using an aluminum GI mag so I switched to a Pmag. Not much better.
So I just cycled the charging handle 30-40 times, loaded up 10 rds in a Pmag and fired all with no cycling problems.
Throughout the course of the afternoon, I ran another 50 rounds through it, mixing it up. 2 rounds at a time, 10 rounds, 5 rounds and so on. No more ejection, extraction, chambering issues.
When we started picking up the brass, my brother pointed these dents to me. I have never noticed this on any of my rifles.
Any info on this would be appreciated. Sorry for the horrible pics but I think you can get the idea.

it is from hitting the deflector (triangle thing behind the ejection port)

There are a number of books and posts that will educate you on your rifle, if you want to  take the time to educate yourself...

Well, I thought that was the purpose of a community forum......
If you have a question or a problem, ask it and someone that can help may answer.

But I guess it's like any other forum...you ask a question and then get ridiculed for not knowing the answer or not getting the answer elsewhere.

I guess I should have stated that I assumed it was from the deflector but was not 100% sure. As I stated, I have fired many rifles and many, many thousands of rounds and have never had this issue....ever.

Thanks for the help
