I was testing my first AR reloads when my bolt jammed. Now its stuck in the forward position. I can get it wiggle a bit, but the teeth wont turn to release, and the bolt is slightly cockeyed in the receiver.

I tried slamming the butt-stock on the ground wile pulling the charging handle. Nothing. And yes its an empty shell in the chamber. I also tried turning the bolt manually, and pushing it out w/ a cleaning rod.

Does any one have any ideas?

I've had a couple of severely jamed bolts and the only way I've gotten them loose is to remove the upper from the lower and use a stick or screw driver perpendicular to the bolt in the slot in the bottom of the bolt carrier against the back of the carrier and then smack the stick with a hammer.  This is hard to do by yourself because you need to hold the upper so that the bolt can fall out.  Good luck and check the bolt and chamber for damage after you get it free.

ETA:  Welcome to the site.

I can do a couple of pics if the description isn't clear.

Ive done it before, I used a brass rod that I placed against the forward part of the bolt & just tapped it lose. Kind of hard to explain but with the butt on the ground, tap the bolt right where it necks bown with brass or somthing else that will not scratch it. Tapping down on the bolt will free that not sized correctly neck pretty quick.

I've gotten a particularly tough jammed fired case out by kickstarting it. Collapse stock, boot on edge of charging handle, buttstock an inch or two from firm surface, drive it down while kicking downward with boot. It's mortaring with your boot.  Worked for me, your mileage may vary. Be careful not to deflect the kick, or it could bend charging handle. Learned it in instructor class.
