| I got my new spikes 14.5 middy in the mail 2 weeks ago and just got out today to shoot it. The rifle ran like a champ and was super accurate got my EOtech nice and zeroed then moved on to my irons and that is where I had a problem. I got the windage adjusted properly with the magpul BUS but when I went to adjust the front sight down it will not turn. I have a front sight tool and this isnt my first rodeo with iron sights after quite a few years in the infantry I have never had this issue. IT feels like the spring inside the front sight is binding or something it will not turn clockwise or counter clock wise. The detent moves freely when pressed down it just will not turn. This is a brand new upper and the front sight is at mechanical zero and appears to be nice and straight and not bent. Has anyone else had this issue? I put some PB blaster down there and will try again later. Any suggestions it should not be this hard to turn a sight post. |

Give the supplier a heads up before you start to go wild on trying to adjust the FSB post first. See if they want you to send it back right away, or have you try to adjust it, and if you snap the post, then send it back instead.
Snapping it first without calling them, may end up with them not warranting a FSB replacement afterwards instead. |
| Look at the bottom side of the little "bump" on the FSB. Some have a setscrew there which is intended to prevent the sight from being further screwed-in after it's zeroed. You may have to loosen the setscrew, zero, then tighten it back up until it bottoms out against the bottom of the post. |
