I was test fitting my barrel, upper, and MI-T15 rail today and the Raul's barrel but won't spin onto the receiver. I looked it over and noticed that the index pin sits higher than the threads on the upper. Is it ok to just file the pin down till its flush or just below flush with the receiver threads?
Upper- BCM
Barrel- Rainier Select 16" Medcon
Rail- Midwest Industries T-15

Hopefully the pin is fully inserted and not backing out.

File to fit the pin slightly, probably o.k.

Before doing that, you may want to try and tap it in by using a brass punch and light hammer. Do not tap it hard enough to displace the metal and mushroom the pin though. If not, then you may need to pull the pin and check that the correct depth was achieved when the pin hole was drilled, or that a machining artifact or foreign material is not blocking the pin from seating properly.

Thanks everyone. I'm new to these rifles and do not know much. Is the pin welded/part of the barrel or is it just tapped into the barrel extension?

Just pressed into the hole in the extension.
