I have a Stag 2T, about 8 months old.  Have shot about 1500 rounds through it so far.  The charging handle seems to me at least, to be harder than it should to pull back.  I see other people in videos and at the range pulling their charging handle with ease.  I even added on a larger latch but its still difficult.

I actually just ordered a BCM Charging handle which I wanted anyway but thought it may help.  Below is a pic of the inside of the upper.  Is this rubbing that you see normal?  If my hands are greasy its hard to pull back without using the traditional pointer finger middle finger method, otherwise its a big deal but still just doesnt seem right to me.

I just tried changing the buffer tube to the stock one and no difference.  The gun has NEVER jammed, so I know it operates properly.  It shoots in tight groupings as well.
Would appreciate some input.

I did some internet searching, and found some answers but im not sure what pertains to me and I thought this picture may help.

Thanks a lot

I found a thread answering part of my question which also may answer the other part.

rubbing off of the finish from racking the CH.  Now Id have to extrapolate and assume that the more I use my Rifle the easier it will get to rack her.

G-d bless the ARFCOM Archives I guess.

Thanks guys; for making me search on my own.  I learned my lesson.

I can sleep well now.

How does the charging handle move back/forth for rubbing tension when you put it into the upper receiver by itself (no bolt carrier)?  Some rub marks in the finish on the charging handle and upper receiver are normal where they make contact with each other.  You state that you ordered a BCM charging handle, have you tried this one, and of so how does it fit?  Any chance of a pic of the charging handle?  Is your charging handle bent?

Thats the charging handle.  I checked it to see if it was bent and it is not what so ever.  I put it on a glass table and it was flush.  That white is grease obviously.

The CH Slided smooth and fine without the bolt carrier in it.  I just ordered the BCM today (ordered the Mod 3 and meant to get the 4 but I think they are going to change it before it ships.  this is neglible information, hehe) so as soon as I received it I'll let you know it it helps.  It just may.  I also tried replacing the buffer tube with the stock one that came with the rifle and it has no different effects.

Not that it has anything to do with my issue but I just got a Spikes Tactical heavy buffer, cant wait to see the difference.  I got major "boingggg" in my head when I shoot her now, not that its really an issue but I like what others have to say about this buffer.

Overall like I said this rifle shoots flawlessly and I have nothing but good things to say about her so far.  I guess if it aint broke dont fix it.  Just was a little concerned about the rubbing and scrape marks.  I assumed it was normal because metal on metal causes friction but I still gotta ask.  Im not going to pretend to be any sort of expert.  My father may be the Retired USMC Recon, but I can only emulate him and be as trained of a civilian NEW YORKER as I can.

Thanks for the response and Ill update when I get the BCM.

UPDATE: Problem Solved.

I Just got the BCM Gunfighter Mod. 4 Charging Handle; F--king Awesome.  It racks my AR SO DAMN SMOOTH AND CLEAN.

No issues what so ever pulling back the CH with my non- trigger finger.  Muchhhh cleaner and smoother than the stock CH from Stag.  Like night and day.  I am overly impressed.  The thickness of the latch allows for a solid grip and doesnt ever slip off my finger or give it "rug burn" like the stock CH did often.

I also just got a Spikes Tactical st-2 heavu buffer.  I'm trying to plan a range day this Monday and I cant wait to try both.

Here's some Pics comparing the stock CH with a larger latch and the BCM.
