I just recently purchased a Lula speed loader for my AR but I can't seem to get it to function consistently. My upper is .300 blackout and I have rounds mostly in .300 whisper right now. When unloading I can only get it to function half the time, the rest of the time I cannot get the loader to unload anything. It seems like the rounds are stuck or something so they won't drop free.
Loading is more consistent. When loading the first 10-15 rounds go in pretty easily but after that they seem to bind up and not load properly. I have fully loaded these magazines by hand with no speed loader with zero issues. I am using brand new Tango Down polymer mags and some G.I. mags. I could not find any loaders specific to .300 blackout or .300 whisper most likely because those rounds are supposed to use the same magazines and components, other than a barrel swap. Am I doing something wrong, or can I expect sub par performance with these loaders using these rounds? |

Ok, after some trial and error. I discovered the problem had to do with the magazines. The speed loader worked perfectly every time on the G.I. mags but the Tango Down mags bound up every time unloading and was only semi-effective while loading. I guess the Tango Down mags will have to be my .223 only mags and save the G.I. mags for the .300 blackout/whisper rounds.
