Possible to tweak the barrel nut just a hair more left or no? Gas tube seems centered and didn hang up on install.

Or am I just picky?

Just go shoot it.  It won't hurt anything as long as it's solid.

I wouldn't expect it to. With that little bit of misalignment there should be plenty of rear sight windage to compensate.  I have at least one setup that doesn't quite line up & I haven't had any problems sighting in.
Of course, you wouldn't have to even worry about that if you stick an Aimpoint on there...

ETA: It's hard to tell from the photo but the left side of the flat on the rail seems to match up with the upper, so the right side of the flat may just be a little wide.  IM me the name of the manufacturer if you're not comfortable posting in the thread.

Will need to re-index the barrel nut to solve the problem.

Also keep in mind that the gas tube is like a BB in a box car in the channels,so you will have plenty of room if needed to sightly off set the barrel nut tube channel to upper receiver gas tube channel, and still have the gas tube not binding/free floating in the channels.

look at the outer edge of the rail to upper interface. that is dead on. its the mchining of the one 45 degree edge thats off.

leave it.

If this is flat:

This is only cosmetic.

As long a what you are mounting fits properly, just shoot it.

This how I see it. I guess you could split the difference.

What you have a poorly machined Upper Receiver or Quad Rail.

Only way to "fix" your cosmetic problem is to replace the offending out of spec part.

But the cosmetic problem is not going to affect the way the gun shoots.
