Is it normal to have some wear on the forward side of the cut out for the cam pin between it and the barrel

On the front side of the notch sometimes the carrier top rail wears/cuts the finish. Its only for the narrow width of the carrier rail and not very long.

after looking at the cam pin i dont see wear on the acutal pin just on the upper

It's normal. It's generally worse on Piston guns but DI guns will do it too.
