I just completed a new 5.56 build using a Noveske Afghan 14.5 SS upper w/ Switchblock mated to a Noveske N4 lower. Running new 30 rd. PMAGs, H buffer, and hi-grade 5.56 ammunition. All internals properly lubricated and wiped.
First round chambered manually with SB set to 'OFF' fires and retains spent cartridge as expected. Second round chambered manually with SB set to 'Unsuppressed' fires, ejects, but fails to feed from the magazine. FTF round is not leaving the magazine at all, so it's not a question of the round jamming on insertion. Any thoughts? This is my first AR build so I'm not too familiar with the issues. Thanks in advance. Subsix |

I am having the same problem with my new build.
am so bummed out to have spent so much and it will not work. just finished my new 300 Blackout pistol and it is so unreliable it is useless to me. what it is doing is not chambering rounds and I do not mean short stroke or feed ramp problems. with the bolt locked to the rear it will not pick up the round and chamber it when mag is inserted and bolt released. I have tried 5 mew mags from different companies. P mag , Pmag leveler , USGI , orlite , and Sig mags and they all do the same thing. sometimes it will shoot 2 rounds and then i get a click [ I wait 10 seconds ] and pull back the bolt on an empty chamber. best so far has been 3 round shot before it does not chamber the next round. the lower is a new stripped Del Ton with RRA parts and Match trigger. this is my upper http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=303286881 Complete Black Rain Ordnance 8.3" 300 Blackout SBR / Pistol upper. Features / Specs: • Black Rain Ordnance billet upper receiver with milled charging handle with tactical latch. • Black Rain nickel boron M16 BCG • Noveske 8.2" 1:7 300 BLK stainless barrel. muzzle threads 5/8x24 • Noveske low profile gas block • YHM Car length Diamond free float quad rail |

Quoted: found the problem with mine if it helps you the Key was not locked down tight ! it runs fine now The description of your problem and the problem you found does not mesh. A loose key will not cause the problem you mentioned. Either something else is going on here or you didn't tell portray the problem correctly in you first post. |

The bolt is travelling rearwards just enough to clear the port and eject the spent round, but not far enough to strip another from the magazine. |

I agree with 007Kevin
Gas leak or a blockage problem somewhere. If you have access to an air compressor. Blow some air down the key both without the bolt first, blow out the stripped bolt, then the reassembled bolt carrier group. Put your finger over the muzzle, and blow air down the barrel. Reassemble the rifle and blow air down the barrel, you should be able to tell where your problem is. Might be a misaligned gas block . |
