Looking for some ideas from the pros here to help me out with this issue.
New, cleaned 9" 300 BLK upper.. First round goes bang.. Brass stays in chamber, new round is stripped from mag and pushed into back of fired round. Tried this with 3 different buffers. H, H2, and carbine (?).. Tried several different mags, all provide the same issue.. Took the bcg out of the 300 blk and put into 5.56 rifle and everything performed flawlessly.. I am confused.. Please let me know if you need any additional information or some other things I might try to help with this issue.. Thank you in advance..

Ether upgrade the extractor spring into a extra tension unit, or at least add a #60 O ring around the extractor spring to add tension to it.

From there, load a single round into a mag, insert/charge the round and fire it for effect.  The desired effect will be the bolt locked back on the catch.

And when you say you cleaned the rig, you do mean including using a chamber brush by hand with CLP to fully clean the chamber as well?

I am kind of a rookie to the ar15 scene.. and no, i did not use a chamber brush.. just a rag and some clp on everything I could reach and then a quick pass or two down the bore.. I will try the upgrades and see what is up.. thank you for the advice..

Best guess, cleaning is your issue here since the rigs are coated in a storage grease to prevent rusting, and needs to be fully removed before the rigs are put into service.

If you have questions on what to use, and where to use it, go to the cleaning and maintenance forum, and there are more than enough threads to get you dial in there.

You may also consider trying a few different types of ammunition, as we have seen the subsonic perform different from the sonic.

9 inch barrels can be over gassed some times.  HD extractor spring, insert and "O" or "D" ring for a starting point.  Scrub hell out of the chamber.
