Just assembled a new upper, and the bcg is getting shiny on the flat parts on either side of the key, and on the bottom. My other BCG hasn't done this at all, but this one has within the first 100 shots. Is this normal?

Looks fine just make sure you clean and lube it well. Most like hi temp lube I go with clp.also cam lobe lube is very good. But that's normal wear to me at least.

Normal! Just put some CLP or your prefered lube on those places a little more!

Normal, that's where ythe BCG rubs on the upper receiver.  Lube the shiny spots and run it wet like an AR should be.
