hey guys. I am a newbie when it comes to ar15's so any help would be appreciated. I just purchased a PWS MK110 upper for my SBR lower http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=106&idcategory=11 . The upper has athe PWS CQB comp installed http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=90&idcategory=6 . I tried removing it so I can install my YHM QD flash hider for my suppressor but the dang thing wont budge. Any suggestions on how to remove it? Thanks in advance.

Barrel needs to be clamp in a vise with a barrel jaw block, then using the flats on the comp, spin it counter clockwise to removed it.

And in your case, you will need to remove the forearm system first, so you can get to the barrel to block vise clamp it down/back up the barrel.

What Dano said ... barrel needs to be in a barrel vice ... otherwise you take the chance of damaging the upper receiver or even unscrewing the barrel from the extension ... believe me I have personal experience with this.

Put some penitrating oil on the threads and let it sit for 8hrs then clamp it down to a vise with either rubber pads on the vise or use a pipe adapter and rubber pads to not mar the barrel.... I usually use an Upper block to hold it on the vise but I have not had any that were to tight and had to vise the barrel....

Don't use an upper receiver block , you are only to go to slip the barrel extension in the upper receiver socket and chance having the barre extension pin mar into the side of the upper barrel socket channel for the pin, or the extension pin just bend.

The barrel itself has to be backed up so the torque is only to the FS/brake and the barrel alone.

I didn't have a barrel vise block but my machinist buddy had me use two small plywood blocks and two pieces of THICK leather. Worked great, no marks even though it twisted a little because i didn't tighten the vise enough.
